Starting the part and gasket replacment hunt. 

#1 Anyone with a L5 have experience buying the Ebay gasket kits from Thailand?

#2 replacing the old break pads. 
Any sources you all use for NEW! break pads for these things.  I think the front and rear are the same size.  LOL i see vintage ish OEM ones on Ebay.  not to sure about getting new pads as old as the bike...

I've not bought whole engine gasket set from Thailand, but did have good luck with a battery cover I bought from a Thai supplier via ebay.

As for brake shoes, you could try a relining company like:
