I know Yamaha doesn't sell these as a replacement part. And there doesn't seem to be any aftermarket replacements. So, what is everybody using? Just leaving the hole open? Blobbing sealant in there, along with the wire? I'm going to a lot of effort to restore these signals and I don't want dew, rain or dust trickling into that 5 mm hole and ruining all my work. Suggestions?

I have a 78 400 which may be different than yours, but same principle. I got a small rubber bung from a hardware store and drilled through it sort of impaling it on my dremmel tool. Shaping it using rough stones and finalizing it with sandpaper. The hardest part was the small flange that resides in the inside. This was more than a decade ago. They may make those now, I forgot the names oh one is kdi, forgot the other, but other than that there may be auto parts type gromets that may work, but I could not find any quite right hense I made my own. Another source maybe just to buy a cheap set of turn signals on flea Bay.

I found something reasonably similar at my local ACE Hardware. You have to find a big ACE store, though, as those are the ones with the incredible number of drawers stuffed with all sorts of stuff.

Ebay address used to insert a preview... Ebay is blocking forums from doing that so now you need to use the "link" function to make an ebay link visible in a post.
