HELP NEEDED was created by zachvanduren
I recently bought a 1975 Yamaha DT175. I know nothing about motorcycles and wanted something cheap that I could learn to fix and ride. I have noticed a couple tubes or lines that come from places but don’t go anywhere, any help as to where they go? I have attached pictures.

First picture looks like battery breather, could be oil thank overflow but I can't see.
Other two are also breathers.
None of them connect to anything.
Good luck with your project.

The exhaust coming out of the bike is real white. Any ideas why this could be happening?

Welcome from NZ. First rule--DON"T PANIC. I'd guess its just typical twostroke smoke as burns oil in small quantities in with the fuel Also if it's been sitting for quite a while it can slowly drip oil into the motor by a very minor fault in the oil pump stop valve small ball & spring, but it'll improve with a good road run. It 'is' possible that the exhaust internal noise deadening packing along the exhaust inner walls are soaked with oil so she'll smoke the town out untill that burns off. Always looks worse than it is. Just be sure you have oil in the autolube tank & oil in the transmission. The trans filler dipstick hole is somewhere by the kick start & have it sitting fairly vertical. The oil level in the trans is somewhere down around kick shaft level if no dipstick. Best of luck.

Great bike! (white smoke sounds normal especially if it's been parked a while and/or not ridden much lately... two stroke engines are lubricated by oil that mixes with the fuel. Oil burns and that's where the smoke comes from.
Warm it up and go for a nice ride and see if it mostly clears up. Also keep an eye on transmission oil level.
