Mark,
Help me out here; what, exactly, is it? A CRF250L with a CR250R engine mated to it?

Did wonder if it was 'one of those' radical motors. Is it yours MarkT?. Don't seize it like the guy in the article did. Didn't elaborate on how or why that happened though. Will parts be an issue if needed. Looks great.

Yes it is "one of those" radicals... and yes, I was lucky enough to find one here in the US. I read the follow up article and he lost a hose off the head and ran it out of coolant... not the bike's fault. In fact these have a reputation for being extremely durable bikes that will go a long time without major repairs. Parts are available from Japan, the UK, and Australia... and curiously some USA ebay sellers are selling parts.
It's also rumored that with the Honda part number I can special order anything I need from a US Honda dealer and if Honda still stocks it, they will ship it here..
Seems many chassis/wheel parts are similar/interchangeable with XR's... engine parts, not so much. Even though it was only made a couple years there is a bit of a cult following and a fair amount of aftermarket support, especially in the UK. Wossner and others make pistons. There are even aftermarket rod kits and computers available. (Honda never supplied a rod kit... you had to buy a complete crank) .I'm proactively addressing things like the Regulator/Rectifier which has been known to fail and take out the computer in the process.
I haven't ridden it much but so far it's a lot of fun... very smooth with a lot of power. And I can touch the ground with both feet when stopped!
