Some time ago, my son was at school, my wife was at work, and I was off in the afternoon (Not "OFF" as many of the TAT group seem to think!) and since my TAT bike was still sitting in Idaho, I decided to pull grab the AT1 and the Nikon and go in search of some fall colors. I am a fan of yellow in case anyone hadn't noticed . . .
About 15 minutes away, I ran up a dead end road I hadn't been up in years and found a forest company gate that was wide open with NO "no trespassing" signs up! Off we go.
A nice gravel road, lots of reprod timberland and sunshine!

The Northwest had not had fall hit like some places (except my own back yard where the leaves are knee deep!), but I was able to find a few spots where the leaves matched my tank pretty well.

I also found and old quarry. No good bumps to climb but a nice photo background.

Mind you - most of our forest land is owned by timber companies that have closed most areas to recreational vehicles due to vandalism. When I grew up here, you could ride for literally days on their property and just had to make sure you got out of the way of the logging trucks!
