Due to the extraordinary growth of the membership and resources, we are once again bumping up against hosting limits. I am working on a fix. In the meantime, the forum should function, but you won’t be able to attach images. Working as fast s we can to fix. Thanks for your patience. - Makotosun

Hello from Ontario Canada was created by Old Iron 1978

Good morning!

Just wanted to make the obligatory introduction!

Just picked up a 1972 AT2 125.  Fairly complete.  This is the most complete bike i've brought home (so says the wife) and the one she's most excited to ride once it's fixed up.
I'm a huge fan of all "older" motorized things.  Wife says it's a sickness..... i can't really disagree.
In order of age:
1951 Farmall Super A
1962 David Brown 990A Implematic
1971 MGB
1972 Yamaha AT2 125
1973 Yamaha RD60
1973 CZ 360 ??
1974 Honda MT250E
1975 Ski-doo Olympique 340
1977 John Deere 1630
1977 Ski-Doo elan 250 deluxe
1978 Massey Ferguson MF-85
1980 Yamaha YT125 Tri-Moto
1981 Arctic Cat Jag 4000
1986 John Deere S-92
1987 Ski-Doo Escapade
1988 Ski-Doo Safari

Then more after 1990.  So yeah, it's a sickness.... I didn't realize until I typed that all out! ha.  Man I need to retire, so I can work on all of them!
As you can see, tractors, car, snowmobiles, dirtbikes, trike etc.  If it's older, I like it.  I'm a self taught tinkerer, that likes to research.  I'm not in a mechanical profession... .which means, I know enough just to be dangerous! :)

Happy to learn from all of you.

The reason I'm on this forum is obviously the AT2.  Missing bits (starter button, luggage rack, all signals, mirrors, toolkit box, chain guard, exhaust screen).  It rolls over, and I found the blue/white wire to hookup a starter button temporarily... It turned over... slowly.... but it did.
The plan of attack when I'm able to find time is to get this bike running..... then have my 14 year old and me tear it down... clean it all up and put it back together... not a restoration, but really clean it up and make it shine.... there's suprisingly very little rust.

So... happy to be here......

Matt

If you're going to fit indicators, don't go paying big bucks for them, as they do turn up at sensible money. The enduro range up to 1973 all used the same indicators, but make sure that you check the voltage of any bulbs that might be fitted to ones you purchase, as only the AT bikes were 12v (the rest were 6v).

KDI have other parts as well - see their banner on the right hand side of the page.

Check out the Tech Library (see top toolbar) for manuals.

Greeting from NZ. Man i'd like to be at your place--half a world away. AT2 looks in with a good chance. All our AT2 & 3's were kick start only. My Fergy 135 diesel is so poked she just about needs a tow to start--but can't stop it once going. Talking of "can't stop it" i damn near got my arm sucked in once playing with leaks in the injector pump thingy & mistiming the throttle control so put my hand over the air filter inlet to stiffle it. Bad move haha. Anyway--quite a list you have there.
