Riding The Pilot Rock OHV Truck Trail 2N33 This Friday, 10/21/22. was created by mx360guy
Hi all,
I am planning on riding the Pilot Rock Truck Trail next Friday, 10/21/22. A 24 mile round trip OHV trail. I have ridden it on a Suzuki DR200 and it is a pretty easy trail. I want to take my mighty '78 SP370 this time. This trail is ok for Green Sticker vehicles. Check out the video.
Looking for folks who would like to ride the forest roads in SoCal on vintage bikes. I would would really like to do the Coxey Truck Trail, Apple Valley to Big Bear. ~45 miles round trip. Ride into Big Bear, eat lunch, gas up, head back. Maybe have a someone in a truck follow for support..

Yes, that was very fun to watch. Been in So Cal my entire life (actually born out in Rialto) and to Big Bear, Silverwood, Wrightwood, Apple Valley etc. many times (on main roads), but wasn't aware of those back roads. Enjoy the ride!

Anyone in the SoCal area; If you are interested in doing these type of rides please contact me. I am looking for folks to play vintage dirt bikes with . Get together one weekend a month and ride a forest road, Cleghorn, Pilot Rock, Big Bear, Starting in October until it gets too hot. More fun to share the experience.
Maybe plan a Vintage DB desert loop in Barstow that ends up at the Slash X Cafe and heads back.

Hi Stoneage, Somehow I just saw you message from October....on my Yahoo email that I hardly ever check. Not sure why the VE messages show up here either...
Antways Great to hear from you about riding local trails on old bikes..I don't have anyone to play motorcycles with anymore...we are like little kids right?...I like Pilot rock because the trial head is paved. I carried my bikes on a hitch rack on a Toyota Highlander and it does not do well on dirt roads...I almost got stuck at the Cleghorn HW 138 entrance..I am a bit nervous leaving my rig on the HW 15 entrance..afraid of bad guys breaking in while I am out. I go out to Barstow; Tanger Outlet Center, a lot because its wide open and I can stay close when I am testing my machines for performance and reliability..make sure parts stay on and it runs good..I have done some long rides out there on my old bikes and they have held up well and ran great.
Been to Gorman a few times but its far and LA traffic is horrible...Really want to do ride the Coxey Truck Trail. It goes from Apple Valley to Fawnskin (Big Bear Lake). It s 22 miles one way. Check Youtube for many videos. Best one is I think. My name is Tracy Howell. I live in West Covina. Let me know if you want to meet up at Pilot Rock sometime soon for a fun ride. Fridays are good for me and the trails are less crowded. There are a lot of Green sticker trails up there. I have green sticker 1973 MX360 and a plated 1978 Suzuki SP370 plated bike and a 2001 DR200SE plated. I am working on a 1970 CT1C at the moment that is running but needs more work to get it ready to test ride at least.
