Weather was perfect, 70-80, lows 50's, slight breeze. It did snow the day before we arrived.

On the way home going over I80 I didn't realize I was following a road salting water truck. It sprays salty water on the road, my truck, camper, bike and trailer were covered in a powder salty dust. Not sure what they do back east and Canada but I feel for you guys, no wonder car rust out.

If you haven’t washed everything, ya might want to soon. Flush the undercarriages well with a lot of water. Hell of a note to end a trip on. Looks like a good trip.

I washed the salt off as soon as I got home, even before my gin and tonic. Today I noticed everything tiny spot on the trailer that wasn’t painted, there was rust. DOH.
I recently found out that Cal Trans uses salt on the mountain roads, I thought they only used sand. I’ve been up and down I80 since the 70’s, another, DOH

It's hit and miss which roads and when. Lived in Mt Shasta for six years and drove hwy 89 a lot to work at a ski area. You could see through the bed of my truck after those years.
