I installed the rear wheel assembly on the frame and when i spin the wheel the sprocket nuts hit on the swing arm unless the it is slid towards the back of the adjustment slots in the swing arm. When i tore it down there was 2 washers between the distant collar and swing arm that is not shown on the parts schematic. Is it ok to put them back or is there another problem. Nothing appears to be bent.

Thanks

No sure why that would be. is it assembled as per the partzilla drawing with circlip & all. Although if the circlip was missing then it could only move away further--all unlikey events. Can you turn the sprocket bolts around so the nuts are on the inside proving the bolt head is thinner than the nut with. Not the wrong spacer in there.

It's possible the original spacer was lost at some point? Maybe a different spacer from a similar model was found but was a little shorter hence the washers.

I'd check ebay by the part number and by the bike model and then message the sellers for a length measurement to compare to what you have.

I will try flipping the bolts around but am sure i would get the clearance as the bolt heads are thin. Thanks!

I wondered about that spacer. This bike had a bit of cobbled together hardware on it so i would not be surprised if it is incorrect. I emailed a seller and hope i hear something tomorrow. For a bike that was showing barely over 2k on the clock, it was a hard ride eventhough it started easy and ran like a watch.

Thanks to both of you for helping me thru this. I would only want to use the washers as a last resort.

It might be worth running a string line between front and rear sprockets ,
to check they are in line . If not check spacers for correct length as others have suggested .
