Hi bigdog302!

Poteau area for me. My dual sport and vinduro tiddler stomping grounds are the mountains nearby, both dirt and back roads. Do you take part in the T-Town Tiddlers rides? The T-Town Tiddlers held a ride in your neck of the woods for their Fall 2017 ride. Looked GREAT. Here's a link to a short video from that ride:

Wife and I are hoping to get some info as to the route they rode that year and we hope to ride it ourselves, probably on our dual sport bikes first. Do any of the areas in the above video look familiar to you?

that area looks a little familiar but I can't recall ever riding it. you are not very far away as I have been to Poteau a few years back.
before my relationship got serious with my Current wife. I dated a gal in Poteau. right after that my Wife and I got serious and shortly afterward we got married, this was in 2005.

Poteau is a short distance away and roughly one and a half hours away. how small and biggest has your bike have to be to partake in the Tidlers ride have to be? I have a 1978 DT175 and I got a ratty 1971 Z50 Honda, I plan on taking a big bore and stroker kit and building a 108 cc mini bike with.

I am in the Gravette AR area and a hop skip and a jump from Maysvile AR

Hi Bigdog302!

The "T-Town Tiddlers" requirements for their rides are:

* 201cc or less.

* 1980 or older.

That's the only requirements!

Of course, Larry the organizer, assumes that we aren't idiots and will ride safely, sensibly and respectfully.

The "T-Town Tiddlers" is a non-organization (not a club, no dues, no "rules", etc) of folks that think its fun to get together and ride tiddler bikes.

Coming to Poteau to ride the Fall Ride this Nov 7?

maybe but no guarantees. I need to get a few last things done on the 1978 DT175 to get it road ready.

is there a fee to enter?

basically I need to work on the lighting and getting it licensed for street use. I need to get the Motorcycle trailer and chase truck ready too. This I might not get done in time for the event.:Arrrgh!

BD:

No fees. Chase vehicle(s) provided for gas cans/breakdowns/etc. Looking at a bit over 80 miles for the Nov ride. Now, you may have to commit to the ride yay/nay the week prior so Larry the organizer has an idea of how many bikes/etc.

Tags/lights: I would think it's a "pays you money n' takes you's chances" on the tag/lights. I'm a chicken, so I will be on my insured/tagged Zundapp w/working lights, and will have the lights working on the wife's AT3 and it will be insured/tagged in OK.

Hope it works out for you and you can attend! Even though we live in the area and ride the area, wife and I both are looking forward to it so as to get our feet wet with the "T-Town Tiddlers" rides.

The tiddler rides must be hoot, wish I was closer. But less than 200cc means I'd have to ride my Minitrail :)

I am going to have to pass on it this year. my DT175 has more problems than I thought including no spark. normally this is not a big deal but It has electronic ignition and either going to points from a same era DT125 or finding out what went bad on it. I reminded myself the bike is 43 years old as it has a 3-77 build date. financially this has put me out and I am very sorry. I do plan to go next year God willing!

I am still going to pursue getting it licensed for road use though.

Well darn.

Ah well, no apologies needed nor warranted. This is just the way it is messing with old bikes!

Maybe you can have it up and going by the Spring ride!

There’s new ones every day. Last weekend was the Vintage Enduro in Brioude France, site of the 1980 ISDT. Videos are already on YouTube.
