RT3 Built for Vintage Racing. #1
I bought this one owner 1973 RT3 Last June and began the task of restoring and cleaning it up. After riding it a few times, I thought I might enter it into a Vintage MX & XC race. So this weekend I'm going to race at a local track for a charity ride. Below you will find picture of the bike when I first bought in and picture of it from yesterday after my work was completed. As far as I know its original top end, but it runs great.

I did the following:
- Cleaned the Carb and rebuilt.
-Rebuilt front forks.
-Installed new brake shoes front & Rear.
-Installed a Preston Petty Rear IT Fender.
-New Chain & Sprockets.
-New Air Filter
-New Battery Box(E-Bay)
-New Battery.
-Replaced the condensor.
-New Kenda Front & Rear Tires.
-New Renthal Handle Bars
-BRB Grips.
-Red Wing Shocks.
-Cleated Foot Pegs.
-Head Light Guard (E-Bay)
-Oil Pump Rebuilt by DEET.

Along with allot of cleaning and prepping. Like I said the bike runs great and is a total blast to ride. I'll let you know how well she does after the race Saturday.

Be sure to let us know how the day went, and plenty of 'dirty' photos!

Thanks!! The fender is narrower then the stock, but weighs a lot less. I bet the stock fender and tail light weigh 25lbs. It has a tail light and brake light built in.

That's a fine looking machine you got there. Ditto good luck at the race brother.

You guys ask for photos are here they are. Bike ran fantastic!! I rode 50+ Vintage class and ran two motos. Then in the afternoon I ran the cross country race. The Cross Country was a bit brutal, but me and the bike survived. No trophy's but it was a fun day. It was my first ever race at 54 years old. Never to late to start!!

My son Casey went with me for support. He ended up buying a 1974 MX250 from a guy at the race the next day.
