I Have a late 68 DT1 and need help getting a spark
I have a couple of broken wires, so have done a basic drawing in the picture
Can anyone provide a proper wiring diagram? Google doesn't help
Is the cross hatched wire on my drawing from lighting coil1 to 2 correct, that looks broken on my bike
Any help appreciated
And any help for adding indicators/flashers appreciated, one day I'd like to get it street legal
thanks so much
Patrick
ps anyone is welcome to use or add to my drawing

Hmmm, think it looks right just a little hard to follow but no worries. Source coil to condenser. Points to condenser. Then from condenser up to plug coil if you want to bypass everything like loom & switches to try for spark. Hope that helps but think you have it right. If no spark then give points a scratch & make sure they're opening & making contact when closed. Set them about 14 thou & give her a kick then stand back, guarantee she'll go--i hope lol.

Turn signals were not required until 1971.
Prior to 1971, turn signals were not mandatory.

To add turn signals, you need a battery, a blinker relay rated for your lamp wattage, and a switch.

Battery positive goes to the blinker relay , comes out of the blinker relay and goes to the switch. The switch sends the power to left or right bulb.

Having recently done the same thing myself. If you connect the black wire from the stator to the black wire on the coil you should get a spark. I have been running my 68 DT1 this way to tune it. Having said this you wont be able to stop the engine unless you have a second wire connected to black and touch it to the frame. I usually just choke it out to stop it since I am only doing tuning and not actually riding it. I have attached the wire diagram.
